Case side-panel clearance and many slot-thickness values are not published consistently, so an estimated value never becomes a hidden “manufacturer verified” claim. Always verify a final purchase against the current manufacturer specification.

How to measure: GPU length is the available distance from the rear expansion-slot bracket toward the front obstruction. Panel clearance is the distance available from the motherboard/GPU mounting plane toward the closed side panel. Thickness is the usable expansion-slot / cooler depth envelope.

Front radiator aware

Only a front-mounted radiator automatically reduces GPU length. Top/side placement remains case-specific and is flagged instead of silently guessed.

Connector aware

16-pin, 8-pin and rear-connector layouts can use different cable-space allowances, with a manual override for exact measurements.

Reference, estimated and user-entered dimensions stay visibly different so an estimate cannot masquerade as a verified specification.

How FitMyPC checks a build

FitMyPC compares the selected graphics card with the dimensional envelope available inside the selected case. The core check covers GPU length, card height plus a power-cable allowance, and GPU cooler thickness. If a radiator is mounted at the front, its combined radiator-and-fan thickness is deducted from the available GPU length.

The tool deliberately separates published or reference dimensions from estimated values. Where a manufacturer does not publish a consistent side-panel or slot-depth measurement, the result is labelled accordingly rather than being presented as guaranteed fit.

Before buying components

A positive result means the entered dimensions pass the FitMyPC geometric checks; it is not a promise that every physical obstruction has been modelled. Drive cages, brackets, vertical GPU mounts, fan frames, connector orientation, unusual motherboard layouts and product revisions can all affect a real build. Check the exact case and graphics-card documentation before purchasing expensive hardware.

Frequently asked questions

Why does cable clearance matter?

Modern high-power GPUs can need substantial space between the card edge and the closed side panel so the power cable is not forced into an excessively tight bend.

Does a top radiator reduce GPU length?

Not automatically in the generic engine. Front radiators commonly occupy the same longitudinal space as a long GPU; top and side interference depends more heavily on the individual case layout.

What if my case or GPU is missing?

Use the custom case or custom GPU option and enter the exact dimensions from the manufacturer or your own careful measurements.

Why are some values labelled estimated?

Manufacturers do not publish every internal clearance in a standardised way. FitMyPC shows that uncertainty instead of disguising an inferred value as official data.
